To replace the alternator in a Fiat 500, lift the car with a jack so that the front right wheel is off the ground. Remove the wheel by loosening the bolts that secure it to the hub, allowing the inner wheel arch cover to be detached.

Behind this cover, you will find the alternator connected to the serpentine belt: by loosening the tensioner pulley, you can reduce its tension and slide the alternator out of its housing, replacing it with a new one. After replacing the alternator, remount all other components that were removed.
