Removing the Alternator from a Fiat 500

Is the alternator broken? Let's look at the replacement on a Fiat 500. Lift the bonnet and secure it, locate the battery and disconnect the terminals. Undo the securing bolts of the splash guard (front right wheel), use a socket to remove the bolts and disconnect the alternator belt (taking care not to damage the wiring harness). Remove all the securing bolts of the alternator. Once disassembled, extract the alternator from the engine bay. Take the new replacement part and insert it into the appropriate housing, tighten the securing bolts, then reconnect the battery terminals. Refit the splash guard and the wheel.
