Adjusting the Handbrake on Fiat Grande Punto

If your Fiat Grande Punto's handbrake is no longer functioning properly and you have a good level of manual dexterity, this video provides all the instructions in a few simple steps to allow you to carry out the operation independently. The first step is to remove the plastic cover of the handbrake by simply unclipping it and pulling it outwards, as there are no screws holding it. At the base of the handbrake, there is a hexagonal nut that secures a metal plate where the cables that lock the left and right rear cylinders converge. You will need to tighten this nut properly using a 10 mm socket spanner until the handbrake is adequately tight, stopping and braking the car after a maximum of 4 clicks.
