How to Remove the Indicator Stalk on Fiat Punto Evo

Model: Fiat Punto MK 3, Punto EVO, 199, Grandepunto - Years 2005-2018

The failure of the indicator stalk, particularly the flat cable inside, is a common fault on this car model, resulting in the airbag warning light illuminating and the controls on the steering wheel not functioning; replacing this part is relatively simple, and it is strongly recommended to replace the part rather than attempting a repair; to begin, disconnect the battery, then release the airbag by pressing the relevant retaining clips through the holes behind the steering wheel spokes; continue by removing the covering panels of the indicator stalk and the steering wheel retaining bolt to free the indicator stalk; at this point, disconnect the connectors and loosen the collar clamp bolt that secures the indicator stalk to the steering column and remove it from its housing.
