To replace the tailgate springs on a Fiat Freemont, first place a support under the tailgate to prevent it from falling when removing the struts. Unscrew the lower part from its support and remove the clip from the upper part. Obtain the new struts. Reattach the clip from the upper part and screw the lower part back in. Ensure the angle is the same as the original; if necessary, tilt it slightly more to match its natural inclination.
