Replacing the rear brake pads is a maintenance that can be easily carried out do it yourself, but you must pay attention to lifting the car and having the appropriate tool to rotate and retract the caliper piston; therefore once the car has been positioned on special stands and the rear wheel has been removed; release the retaining spring external to the caliper, remove the protective caps of the calliper fixing pins and unscrew them and then remove the caliper itself; then extract the old pads and push the piston back: if you do not have the appropriate tool, you can use a clamp to keep the piston pushed while you rotate it with a parrot caliper; at this point insert the new pads, reposition the caliper, fix it with the relative pins, apply the caps and the external spring before reassembling the wheel.

In order to replace the battery of the BMW R 1250 GS it is necessary to loosen the bolts that secure the casing positioned on the left side of the bike, so that its cover can be removed. Once this has been removed, you will be able to access the components below, including the battery. The latter must be removed from its housing by disconnecting the power cables and unscrewing the appropriate fixing bolts. In this way it will be possible to insert a new battery, properly fixing it and connecting it to the relative cables, covering everything with the casing.
