Function and location of the AdBlue control unit on the Ford Ranger

In this video we can see the position of the AdBlue control unit of the Ford Ranger, which is located under the glove compartment, on the passenger side - for left-hand drive vehicles - where, entering behind the compartment, we can find the control unit module, which is inside a supporting case. This control unit is a fundamental component of the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system designed to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from diesel engines. This system works with AdBlue, which is an aqueous urea solution, which is injected into the exhaust gases at high temperatures. The control unit monitors the entire process, dosing the right amount of AdBlue, based on the engine's operating conditions.
