How to remove the steering wheel airbag on a Ford Fiesta? Before removing the steering wheel, disconnect the battery terminals located in the engine compartment. Follow these steps to remove the airbag: remove the inspection caps at the back of the steering wheel (if present), then use a screwdriver to release the screws securing the steering wheel cover (where the airbag is located). Once the airbag is released (driver's side), disconnect the power connectors and remove it from the steering wheel. For refitting the airbag: connect the power connectors, then press it onto the steering wheel while simultaneously tightening the rear bolts.
