How to check the engine oil level

Everyone tells us to regularly check the oil level, but do we know how to do it? Has anyone ever wasted two minutes explaining it to us? In reality, it's easy (if you know how to do it). The first thing to know is that the car must be turned off for at least half an hour and parked on a flat surface, preferably in the shade. We open the hood, releasing the latch from inside the car and then securing it with the appropriate prop rod. The dipstick is easy to see because it is usually colored yellow and is easily identifiable. We pull it out (it’s quite long), clean it well with paper towels, and then put it back in its place. After a moment, we pull it out again and check the level: it’s good if it’s just below "max." If it’s lower, we need to top up the oil from the yellow cap located nearby. The type of oil is indicated in the user and maintenance manual, and also on a sticker on the driver’s side door pillar. The oil must be of excellent quality, and only a small amount is needed: as we add it, we measure again and check: it must NEVER exceed the "max" mark.
