The 12-volt battery that powers the Ford Transit Custom is not located in the engine bay, as is the case with most vehicles, but rather in the cabin, specifically under the driver's seat. Replacing it is quite simple: slide the seat forward, then remove the battery cover.

Disconnect the negative terminal, which is black, followed by the positive terminal, which is red. Simply lift the battery out of its housing to make way for the replacement. Operation complete, the vehicle is ready to be used.
