How the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System Works on the Ford Fiesta

The TPMS on the Ford Fiesta operates using a direct system: this means that each wheel is equipped with a sensor mounted inside the tyre and fixed to the valve stem. These sensors constantly measure the pressure and temperature of the air inside each tyre and send the data in real-time to the onboard computer, allowing you to view the pressure values of each individual tyre on the dashboard display. The system communicates with a warning light shaped like a section of a tyre. If it stays illuminated, at least one of the tyres has a pressure lower than recommended. If it flashes on startup and then remains lit, the TPMS is faulty; if it turns on and off while driving, the pressure is close to the warning threshold.
