Here’s how to repair the fuel door lock on a Ford Fiesta MK6, which tends to become stiff over time; this is a common issue with these cars as they age. You only need to lubricate the mechanism, and the video suggests using spray on the outside. Spray some WD-40 on the outside of the lock, then around the neck of the cap. Move the key back and forth, inserting and removing it several times, while continuing to spray lubricant into the lock hole and around the edge of the key. As you attempt to turn it, the mechanism will gradually unlock without resistance, reducing the risk of breaking the key.
