How to Program a New Key and Delete a Lost Key for the Ford Fiesta

To program a new key for the Ford Fiesta, you need to use a dedicated diagnostic tool connected to the OBD port, in this case, a Smart Pro. After connecting, select the correct option for Ford Fiesta Europe 2012–2018 and enter the immobiliser functions. From the key programming menu, start the guided procedure: the tester first asks you to turn the ignition (ON) with the key to be stored and, in a subsequent step, to turn off the ignition (OFF). A security phase then begins, indicated by a message stating that the operation may take up to three minutes; during this time, do not touch the keys or the ignition. When finished, the display confirms that the key has been programmed correctly. To delete a lost key, use the specific key deletion function. The tester will ask you to turn off the ignition, remove the key, and then perform a sequence of on and off cycles with all the keys still in possession, up to the maximum allowed number. This way, the system will store only the present keys and remove the lost one from the control unit. Once the procedure is complete, the message on the screen confirms the end of the operation. It is always advisable, before handing the car back, to individually test all programmed keys on the Ford Fiesta to verify engine starting and the correct functioning of the remote.
