How to Replace the Brake Pads on a Ford Transit

To replace the brake pads on a Ford Transit, park the vehicle on a flat surface, engage the handbrake, and slightly loosen the wheel nuts. Lift the vehicle with a jack, secure it with axle stands, and remove the wheel. Unscrew the brake caliper bolts and carefully move it without letting the weight rest on the brake line. Remove the worn pads and clean the seating area of dust and debris. Using a special tool, push the caliper piston back to its initial position, then insert the new pads ensuring they are correctly fitted. Reposition the caliper, tighten the bolts to the specified torque, and remount the wheel. After the job, press the brake pedal several times to bring the pads into contact with the disc and check the proper functioning of the system before returning the vehicle to the road.
