How to Change the Reverse Light Switch on Ford Focus

The reverse light switch rarely fails, but if it does, it is easy to replace. This device is a small internal switch that activates the reverse light every time it is selected automatically. It is connected to the electrical system, so before proceeding with the complete replacement of the part, it is wise to check the various electrical connections, fuses, and wires; immediately after, check that the bulb is not blown. Secure the vehicle with the handbrake and open the bonnet. Remove the battery and its support. Now, before removing the six bolts from the bracket above the gearbox, use a jack and a wooden board to hold the gearbox up. After locating the connector of the switch, disconnect it and proceed to replace it with the new part. Reassemble everything in reverse order.
