Accessing Hidden Functions of the Onboard Computer

Model: Ford Focus MK 1 - Years 1998-2004

This guide shows you step by step how to access the hidden functions of the onboard computer in your Focus.
Start by turning the key to the off position and press the button to reset the trip odometer. After a few seconds, when the word -Test- appears, release the button and begin scrolling through the various functions presented.

Below is the correspondence between the terms and their meanings:

GAGE = Gauge needle test
8888 = LCD display test
buLb = Indicator light test
rXXX = EPROM version
eXXX = NVRAM version
* DTC = Error list; if it shows NONE, the list is empty. If errors have been recorded, the first will be displayed, and you can scroll through them by pressing the reset button.
XXX.X = Speed in miles
XXX.X = Speed in km/h
XXXX = Engine RPM
FXXX = Fuel amount
XXXC = Coolant temperature
bXXX = Battery voltage
Ab-X = ABS status; H indicates active when braking, L indicates at rest
Eb-X = EDB status; behaves the same as the ABS indication
IL-X = Interior lighting status; H indicates on, L indicates off
Cr-X = AIRBAG sensor status (Crack Sense)
