Ford Focus - Video tutorial

Model: Ford Focus MK 2, Focus 2 - Years 2004-2011
Part: Engine
Operation: How to fit the cylinder head gasket

In this video tutorial we insert new head gaskets on a Ford Focus. After having checked, with the help of a very thin plastic shim, the linearity of the base of the head are shown and carefully discarded the new gaskets. The cylinder head gasket is interposed between the cylinders and the cylinder head and serves to ensure that the oil, combustion fumes and coolant do not come into contact with each other and do not disperse. With a special tool, the thread of the cylinder head bolts is measured. With a special wrench the old bolts are unscrewed and extracted. The linearity of the cylinders is also checked with a digital comparator in order to check for any deformations. At this point a new cylinder head gasket is inserted. Having purchased a new pack of ten cylinder head bolts, you must use some bolt grease from the kit to grease each bolt (as shown in the video) to prevent them from seizing. Once each of them has been inserted into all the housings, it is necessary to tighten them correctly.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
