When performing maintenance that requires the removal of the cylinder head, it is good practice to use a new set of studs for reattachment. Start by cleaning the fixing holes on the cylinder block with a tap of the correct diameter and pitch, ensuring no debris falls into the cylinders.

Then, position the new cylinder head gasket and the cylinder head itself, apply copper grease to the base of the threads and under the heads of the new studs, and proceed with tightening using a cross pattern, first with a torque wrench and then with a standard spanner.
