How to Install Gas Struts to Lift the Bonnet on a Ford Fiesta MK8

Learn how to install a really useful accessory, the gas struts that hold up the bonnet, on a Ford Fiesta MK8. You can find them on Amazon, for example, at £25.00 per pair, including delivery charges. The kit also includes the mounting accessories. To begin installation, open the bonnet and fit the bracket facing the engine side, removing the bolts from the bodywork to secure them to the bracket itself. A bit of thread locker will help dampen any vibrations. Then, present the gas strut into the two ball nuts that you will have already installed (without tightening them fully), starting from the top. The opening of the gas strut is shorter than the opening with the rod. Repeat on the other side. It looks great when you open the bonnet!
