Diagnostic Check via Instrument Cluster Menu

Without a diagnostic tool, you can perform some checks and view the most relevant operating parameters on the instrument cluster display by accessing a hidden menu typically available only to specialised technicians; with the ignition off, press and hold the trip reset button and turn on the ignition: this will access the menu, and by pressing the same button individually, you can scroll through the menu items and perform a test on the instrument cluster lights, check for error codes, and monitor parameters such as RPM, temperature, and alternator charge.
