On the Ford Expedition, the trunk tailgate may get stuck due to a malfunction in the lock. In this case, perform the emergency opening by following the simple procedure shown in this tutorial. First, open the rear doors, then fully lower the seat back and go into the trunk. Next, locate the center handle, pry it loose using a flathead screwdriver, and, leveraging along the perimeter, separate the panel from the tailgate. At this point, locate the lock mechanism, activate it with the screwdriver, and unlock it.
