On a Ford Fusion, the fuel door may get stuck due to a problem with the release button or the lock actuator. In these cases, you can perform an emergency opening by following the simple procedure shown in this video. First, open the trunk. Then, remove the small panel located on the back of the fuel door, about halfway up. Next, locate the green cord and pull it towards you to open the fuel door. At this point, you can refuel and repair the faulty component.
