These brief and simple steps will show you how to disable the 4x4 traction on the Ford Escape; however, it is advised not to disable all-wheel drive to avoid compromising the vehicle's safety and stability while driving. First, lift the vehicle and start disconnecting the electrical connector of the 4x4 traction sensor; then modify the connector to permanently disable the all-wheel drive system, as shown in the video.

At this point, restore the wiring if you want to re-enable all-wheel drive, following the video to the end!
