To replace the front shock absorber on a GMC Sierra, lift the vehicle using a jack or a lift so that the corresponding wheel is off the ground. Then, unbolt all the bolts securing the wheel to its housing, completely removing it to access the components behind it. Here you will find the shock absorber, which can be removed by unscrewing the bolts at the top and bottom.

Once the old shock absorber is removed, install the new one and reattach the wheel.
