How to Replace the Oil and Oil Filter on a Holden Colorado

To replace the oil and oil filter on a Holden Colorado, lift the front of the vehicle. Unscrew the oil fill cap, then using a 15mm socket wrench, unscrew the oil drain plug and let the oil drain into a container. While the oil drains, go to the top of the engine. Using a 1/16" socket wrench, unscrew the oil filter housing, remove the filter from the housing, and take off the O-ring from the housing. Take the new filter, position it in the housing, place the new O-ring in the housing, and screw it back into place. Screw the oil drain plug back in, insert a funnel into the oil fill hole, and pour in the specified quarts of oil. When you are close to the specified quarts, check the level with the dipstick (the level should be checked the second time you pull out the dipstick). If the level is at the max mark, the operation is complete; otherwise, top off as needed.
