How to Replace the Starter Motor on a Honda Civic

Before starting, disconnect the battery of your Honda Civic to work safely. Begin by lifting the front of the car. Next, unscrew and remove the bolts securing the starter motor support brackets, then remove the brackets themselves. After this, disconnect the connector that powers the starter motor. At this point, you can unscrew and remove the bolts securing the starter motor to the engine block, then remove the starter motor itself, completing the disassembly. To install the new starter motor, simply reverse these steps, and the replacement will be complete.
