Frequent use of the boot can lead to faults in a strut; in this guide, we will see how to replace it in a Honda CR-V. Start by prying on the block at the base of the strut and the one connected to the tailgate as shown at minute 0:40. During this operation, you can clamp the strut that you are not replacing with pliers to ensure that the boot, bearing only on it, does not close while you perform the replacement.

Then take the replacement parts and pry with a screwdriver on the ends to open the clips.

At this point, you can remove the old strut and fit the new one, positioning it on the appropriate supports and pressing to securely close the clips.
