How to Remove the Shock Absorbers on a Honda CR-V

This guide explains how to remove the rear shock absorber from a Honda CR-V. Recline the rear seats and remove the plastic cover near the seatbelt. Unscrew the relevant bolts with a socket spanner, loosen the wheel nuts, and lift the car with your column lift to a comfortable height. Unscrew the nuts and remove the wheel. Then, using a ratchet spanner, loosen the central nut of the shock absorber and place a support jack under the shock absorber's wishbone. Unscrew the two securing nuts at the end of the wishbone, taking care. Now unscrew the nut at the shock absorber joint and pull it out of its housing. Reinstall the new shock absorber by inserting it into its housing, screw it to the guide with the nut, inserting it into the slot as shown in the video. Raise the jack so that the wishbone plate connects with the car's chassis, then tighten everything. Refit the wheel with its nuts, lower the car, and reinstall the bolts in the cabin. Finally, close the plastic panel and raise the seats.
