All Hyundai vehicles feature a manual option to deactivate the passenger airbag, allowing you to safely position a child seat in the front without risk in the event of an accident. To deactivate the passenger airbag on a Hyundai i40, open the passenger door and insert the vehicle key into the side lock, turning it to the OFF symbol.

When the ignition is turned on, the display will show "AIRBAG OFF". To activate the airbag, open the door and, after inserting the key, turn it to the ON position. When the ignition is turned on, the display will show "AIRBAG ON".
