In this video, we see how the airbag warning light does not automatically mean that the problem is the airbag itself. As the YouTuber shows us, by checking more thoroughly, it was possible to see that the issue was not the airbag, but the spiral contact located on the back of the airbag unit, which is connected to the turn signal switch. This allows for continuous electrical connection between the steering wheel and the car, even while turning the wheel. Without it, the wires would break after just a few turns. It is made of flexible tape, like a coil of wire wound in a spiral, and has a maximum number of turns (usually 3) beyond which it gets damaged. It is a passive safety component, so it cannot be repaired: it can only be replaced. Although we can find it on eBay with the code 285584703125 for the price of 133.00 euros with free shipping, it is better to have it replaced by a specialized technician.
