Engine Oil and Filter Replacement on a Hyundai Kona

Replacing the engine oil and its filter is one of the first DIY maintenance tasks you learn to perform. It is recommended to place the vehicle on suitable car ramps to facilitate access to the underside of the engine, where the splash guard is fitted. In the centre of the guard, there is an inspection light that allows easy access to the oil sump and its drain plug. Once the oil has drained, fit the plug with a new washer before proceeding to replace the filter, which is located just above the sump; ensure to lubricate the gasket before screwing in the new one. Finally, fill the engine with new oil until the maximum level is reached.
