How to replace oil and filter on a Hyundai Kona? Open the car door and pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, then lift the front bonnet; remove the cap above the engine head (to allow the fluid to drain more quickly). Lift the car on a jack (two-post lift) and using a strap wrench, unscrew the large oil filter (remove the worn oil filter) and fit a new one. Unscrew the bolt of the oil sump; drain the fluid into a container. Finally, top up with new fluid (check the level with the dipstick) and close the front bonnet.
