To repair the remote control of the Hyundai Matrix, you start by working on the plastic shell, placed on a clean surface. Using a small tool, you open the key along the seam, gently separating the two halves of the casing without damaging the clips.

Once the shell is open, you extract the internal electronic circuit, paying attention to the position of the button cell battery. The first step is to clean the contacts: with a fine screwdriver or a sharp tool, remove any residue of rubber or dirt around the buttons, then you can use a small amount of WD-40 spray or a contact cleaner, distributing it with a brush or a soft toothbrush to dissolve oxidation and impurities.

If the mechanical buttons on the circuit appear worn, you can replace the small microswitches with equivalent spare parts, aligning them with the pads on the circuit and securing them by soldering. After cleaning and possibly replacing the buttons, allow the board to dry thoroughly and reinstall the new battery in its place, ensuring that the terminals are correctly oriented.

The circuit is then reinserted into the shell, which is closed by pressing along the entire perimeter until the clips snap into place. Once the work is completed, test the remote near the vehicle to check that the LED and central locking respond correctly: the Hyundai Matrix key is now fully functional again.
