Learn how to adjust the handbrake on a Hyundai IX35: this is a simple and quick procedure, but it requires an assistant to hold the handbrake lever in the correct position while you tighten it. Lift the rear part of the plastic cover, which is held in place only by pressure clips; this will allow you to lift the cover and access the underlying mechanisms. You will see the two handbrake cables that reach the sides of the lever. There are two adjustment screws on the cables. The assistant should pull the handbrake lever to the correct position (let's say the third click), and while the lever is in position, you will turn the adjustment screws the same number of turns. Release the handbrake lever and ensure that the rear wheels turn freely.
