How to Replace the EGR Valve on a Hyundai i30

To replace the EGR valve on a Hyundai i30, turn off the engine and wait for it to cool completely. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery, then remove the engine cover and any intake ducts that prevent access to the valve. Locate the EGR, connected to the manifold and the exhaust gas circuit, and disconnect its electrical connector. Loosen the clamps and remove the connected pipes; on versions equipped with a cooled EGR, there may also be coolant pipes present. Then unscrew the bolts securing the valve and remove it along with the old gasket. Clean the contact surfaces thoroughly, place a new gasket, and install the new EGR. Tighten the fixings, reconnect the pipes and connector, refit the removed components, and restore any coolant if necessary.
