To replace the timing chain on a Hyundai Santa Fe, it is advisable to remove the engine from its bay for easier access. Once the engine is removed, loosen the bolts securing the engine side cover: after loosening, remove it to access the sprockets. By loosening the bolts securing the tensioner, the part can be disengaged and removed, replacing it with a new spare part. After installation, tension the chain and refit all previously removed parts.
