To ensure even wear of the tyres, it is advisable to perform a rotation approximately every 6,200 miles, as wear is not perfectly uniform between the front axle (which experiences both traction and steering forces, as well as greater weight from the engine) and the rear axle. The best solution is not simply to swap the tyres between the front and rear axles on the same side, but rather to cross them, moving the rear right tyre to the front left and the front right tyre to the rear left.
