Replacing the Key Battery on Jaguar Cars

Model: Jaguar X-Type MK 1 - Years 2001-2009

Use a small flathead screwdriver to pry in the small slot at the back of the casing to split it into two parts. Now, as shown in the video, pry again with the small screwdriver, this time in the side slot, to remove the section containing the battery. Voila! Now that you have also split the key (or remote) casing horizontally, you can simply remove the old battery and insert the new one. It can be purchased at any hardware store or large supermarket. Reassemble everything by reversing the steps.
