How to change the battery in the key remote of a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Take your remote and pull out the metal key; once the metal key is out, use a screwdriver to pry between the two covers of the key. Pry until the two covers separate, then extract the worn battery with a small screwdriver, take a new one of the same size and voltage. Reassemble the cover on your remote by pressing on the key case until you hear it click into place, joining the two covers. Check the correct functioning of the remote by pressing the buttons.
