To reset the Service light that appears on the instrument panel of the Jeep Patriot, you need to turn on the instrument panel without starting the engine by turning the key in the ignition switch. Once the instrument panel is turned on, you can press the accelerator pedal three times all the way down and then hold down the brake pedal.

At this point, you can wait for about ten seconds with the brake pedal depressed until the light disappears; at the end of the procedure, you can turn off the instrument panel.
