How to remove the gear knob from a Jeep Wrangler? This is an easy operation. First, grasp the knob with both hands and rotate it left and right until you can remove it from the gear lever.

Use a plastic lever to disconnect the leather gaiter frame (if you need to replace it). For reassembly: take the new knob and slide it onto the lever in the centre console (tighten it until it locks onto the lever). Finally, test the movement of the lever in the centre console to ensure the knob is correctly fitted.
