Oil Change on a Jeep Renegade

Changing the oil and filter on a Jeep Renegade? Here’s how to remove it from the engine bay. Lift the bonnet and secure it, then use a strap wrench to unscrew the oil filter and remove it (install the new part). Raise the car on a column lift or jack; unscrew the bolt from the oil sump, drain the oil into a disposal container, and re-tighten the bolt on the oil sump. Top up the engine with new oil. Check the oil level multiple times with the metal dipstick until the ideal measurement is reached. Start the Jeep Renegade's engine and check its operation.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after. This way, you can check that the oil mark is between the minimum and maximum levels; finally, you can place the dipstick back in its tube.
