Operation: How Start and Stop works in the Jeep Renegade.

On Jeep Renegade but not only on other cars, the Start and Stop system has been designed to switch off the engine when we put the gearbox in neutral, and the driver releases the clutch. On the other hand, the engine is reactivated when the driver presses the clutch pedal again and shifts into first gear. There are some conditions that can cause Start and Stop to fail and therefore this technology is automatically deactivated: an example is when the engine has not yet reached the right operating temperature, such as when the battery is not running. Optimal; another important factor is whether the air conditioner is in operation, and therefore a difference is generated between the ambient temperature and the required one.

How do I reset the Jeep Compass Start & Stop system?

In order to reset the Start & Stop system of the Jeep Renegade you need to open the hood in order to access the battery located inside the engine compartment. The car's Start & Stop system is activated automatically and it will not be necessary to carry out any procedure to put it into operation. In order to reset the system it will therefore be necessary to disconnect the connector located in the lower part of the battery, so that it is reconnected after a few seconds. After the connection is successful, it will be possible to verify that the system has been reset.
