In this tutorial, see how to replace the crankshaft position sensor in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. First, lift the front of the vehicle, taking all necessary safety precautions.

Then locate the sensor on the driver's side, between the oil sump and the driveshaft. To access it, it is advisable to temporarily remove the support frame of the driveshaft to gain working space.

The sensor is secured to the transmission with a single bolt, which can be removed with a 13 mm socket.
