Timing Belt: How to Adjust the Tension on a Range Rover Evoque

On the Range Rover Evoque 2.2 SD4 190 HP, the timing belt tension adjustment is performed with the engine off, the vehicle secured, and the work area clear. After removing the necessary covers, align the crankshaft and camshafts to the reference position using the specified locking tools. With the belt path correctly set, adjust the tensioner until the indicator aligns with the reference window/scale; then tighten the tensioner fastener according to specifications. Manually rotate the crankshaft two complete turns; once the alignments are restored, recheck the tension indicator and, if necessary, make a small adjustment to center the reference. After verification, reposition the covers and perform a final visual check of the proper movement of the belt over the rollers and the crankshaft sprocket.
