Removal of the Transmission

In the following video, the transmission is removed from a Land Rover Discovery. The work is done in a shop, and the vehicle is not in good overall condition. First, locate the transmission from the underside of the vehicle. Using a ratchet wrench and an extension, loosen the lower bolts of the transmission. Next, use a flexible circular saw to cut an access opening. A plasma cutter, which uses electrically conductive gases to transfer energy from a power source to the material being cut, frees the entire transmission. Finally, use a metal lever to completely remove the transmission.
