Transmission Oil Change Instructions

Changing the oil in the transmission is a maintenance task that is often overlooked and may not even be included in the manufacturer's maintenance schedule. Since the gears are constantly in contact with each other, it is clear that operating them in a bath of fresh oil, with optimal lubrication and viscosity characteristics, can only bring benefits, reduce wear, and improve gear engagement. Access the vehicle's undercarriage and remove both the drain plug and the fill plug from the pan located under the transmission. Once the draining is complete, reinstall the lower plug and use a funnel with a hose to add the oil: the level is reached when the oil begins to overflow from the plug.
