How do "automatic chains" work?

In this video we see the automatic chains "auto-deploying chains" which are exactly what the video shows: a system that avoids the classic, cumbersome procedure of mounting traditional chains. The system consists of a fixed support, which is installed on the wheel hub; the actual chains that are stored in a housing, and a control inside the cabin, which lowers a panel with the chains. When the button is pressed, the chain is positioned in front of the wheel, which, as it turns, passes over it and automatically collects the chain, which is positioned under the tread. To remove them, simply drive in reverse for a distance, or press another button to retract them. It is a convenient, fast, and clean system, but it also has its drawbacks: first of all, it is very expensive, then it is not suitable for all cars, due to space problems, furthermore - being a mechanism - it is subject to jamming and locking. It is certainly a good idea, but it is not a cure-all that solves everything.
