Turning Off AFS Warning Light After Replacing Shock Absorber Springs
Model: Lexus IS
MK 3
- Years 2013-2024
The AFS (Adaptive Frontlighting System) makes night driving and driving in adverse weather conditions safer and more comfortable. During driving, an electronic control unit evaluates the dynamic driving parameters throughout the journey: the steering angle, speed, and the vehicle's angular velocity sensor. Based on this analysis, the short-range lights automatically rotate horizontally according to the curve radius, ensuring optimal road illumination. This improves visibility by 70% compared to conventional systems, making night driving safer and more comfortable. Replacing the shock absorber springs significantly alters the vehicle's setup, so the AFS sensor must be recalibrated to ensure proper functioning and to turn off the warning light on the dashboard; position the vehicle on a flat surface, locate the sensor, which is near the shock absorber, loosen the fixing nut, and adjust its position until the warning light turns off.
