In this video, we will see how to reset the ECU of a 1997 Honda Civic: this operation may be necessary if, for example, fuel consumption suddenly increases without apparent reason, or if you have installed aftermarket components: performing this operation will help the car's computer learn and adapt to the new components. In some cases, a check engine light may come on without reason, and resetting the ECU may resolve the issue. To relearn the idle, the best method is to remove the fuse in the top left of the engine fuse box, then leave the car stationary for 30 minutes, replace the fuse, and start the car with all accessories off, leaving it running for thirty minutes. Then turn off the car. Drive it normally. Generally, a full tank of petrol is needed for the vehicle to complete the relearning. This way, we will correct idle issues.
